With the announcement of Chapters 3 and 4 releasing on June 5th 2025 I decided to make this post, I know I've made posts like this on Deltarune before but hey. Maybe some of these will be answered in the next chapters.
Video version of this blog post:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEZpfTNA8Qs
https://old.bitchute.com/video/AlgWzYIth5oy/
~ Ralsei's Knowledge ~
Ralsei seems a bit too knowledgeable sometimes making him absurdly suspicious, it was bad enough in chapter 1 where he was having a conversation with Kris while we watch Susie but in chapter 2 the suspicion rises as he tells Kris where objects are located in the school as well as that scene after Spamton Neo where he tells Kris not to worry about the situation and ignore it.
~ Unused Items ~
I'll start with some unused armor, there's the Dark Gold Band, Sky Mantle, Mouse Token and the Spike Shackle. The Sky Mantle might be related to the shadow mantle that Seam was going to give you, it gives you 50% damage reduction from electric and holy damage. For weapons there's the "Trefoil" and "Cheer Scarf" which don't seem too interesting and what's known as the "Everybody Weapon" which was probably just used for testing. I'm not going to talk about any unused consumable items since those aren't too interesting either, however what seems absurdly interesting and important is the "Pure Crystal"an item that's an ingredient to make the Twisted Sword along with the Thorn Ring. The sword has a trance effect like the Thorn Ring does, if I had to take a guess I'd say this will lead to a new route just like the weird route.
The item description for the Pure Crystal says, "purified by the cat", I wonder if it's talking about someone other than Seam?
~ Glow Shard ~
If my memory is correct you can get two Glow Shards, one in chapter 1 in the closet Dark World and the other one is in Queen's Castle in chapter 2. Their only purpose currently is to be sold for a small amount of money, everybody usually saves these because it really does seem like an item that would be used for something else later on. If they were more common I wouldn't think anything of them.
~ Gyftrot Noelle Connection ~
I like how everyone instantly thought of Gyftrot after Noelle's blog was released, I saw an interesting, cool and creepy theory on /v/ that a lot of characters in Undertale, including the goner characters are representations or literally the characters of Deltarune after something terrible happens. An example would be the "hyper goner" being Ralsei and Gyftrot or the DT Extractor being Noelle or Dess.
~ Asriel's Room in the Dark World ~
Given Susie's dialogue and the rooms being based on search history this one is probably just a joke, it's still pretty odd that Kris closes his eyes when looking inside of his brothers room. Were the dragons really that indecent?
~ Castle Town Hole in The Cliff ~
There's a strange hole in Castle Town just below the cliff where you first entered the place, I remember picking up some items here which I think has to do with dark crystals between saves but I don't remember too well to be fair. I have no theories on why there's a hole here, it could be for a future location where instead of using the overworld to go somewhere you enter a new place in the Dark World itself.
~ Save File Differences ~
I think there's going to be a mechanic or gimmick in future chapters involving save files, maybe involving making saves on three different routes for pacifist, snowgrave or aborted snowgrave. Remember when the "survey program" released and you'd get weird dialogue from assumedly Gaster when you mess with save files in the menu? "Choose the target for the reflection, the division is complete, it was as if it was never there at all, it will be subsumed" were just some of the dialogue you would get, a particularly interesting line of dialogue happens if you copy the same file to all three slots and then overwrite one of them with, again, the same save, dialogue appears stating "what an interesting behavior".
Another interesting one is attempting to overwrite a save file ten times but cancelling it every time to which the dialogue "very interesting" appears.
One of the most interesting lines are "preparations are complete" after copying a save and filling out all of the slots, this is definitely more evidence to saves being important. I do remember this dialogue showing up in newer releases of chapter 1 and 2 as well but I could be wrong. To add more proof of this idea there's different examine text for Asriel's drawers in him and Kris' room across the three save files.
~ Dice Brace on Noelle ~
When you equip the Dice Brace on Ralsei he says it spells out "friendship" but Noelle actually has unique equip text when it's given to her, she stutters and says "Hey, y-you jumbled it...". This seems really ominous to me, what did Kris spell with the Dice Brace as a message specifically for Noelle?
~ Ralsei's Door ~
If I'm remembering right you can't actually interact with that door behind Ralsei's cooking pot, I'm assuming it leads to his dark fountain which will most likely play a role in later chapters. Just what is the goat hiding? I certainly don't trust him. It's probably where he keeps all of his rainbow fruit.
~ Potential Alternate Scenes ~
Someone on /v/ had the idea that something may happen if you start to do the super boss quests but then stop right at the end, for example if you obtain Jevil's key but never open the door and if you obtain the Loaded Disk in chapter 2 but never deliver it. It does seem like something obscure that Toby would include in future chapters.
~ Face Just Before the Teacups ~
The question of who the face belongs to is a pretty big talking point, just before you take the teacup ride downstairs in preparation of the Neo fight, if you wait long enough you'll see a face appear in the darkness. It has the same eye colors as Spamton's Dealmaker glasses except reversed with a large, cheshire cat like grin. This can't be Spamton because he can't enter the basement himself, I have a theory that it'll be an orange cat in a later chapter but that's a discussion for another time.
It's worth noting the same face appears on an unused object that would have been used during the ride with Berdly. Oh yeah also, the file name for the face is just "IMAGE_FRIEND".
~ It's Raining Somewhere Else ~
Just an interesting thought that Deltarune might be that "somewhere else" in the song title as the shop themes are intentionally similar to the song in Undertale. Obviously there's too many song similarities to count with leitmotifs but this one always stuck out to me.

I won't go over things that have been talked about a lot such as Selph since everyone already heard enough about them, I will list some more obscure mysteries I heard about from others here.
Video version of my blog post:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUghNLkbMiE
https://old.bitchute.com/video/ubjvmmF8FCWT/
~ Snowman in Frozen Bell ~
What even is this supposed to be, I've only seen one or two people mention this but there's a strange snowman that looks like it's designed after something or someone we don't see in the game. It has what looks like a beak, at least to me, a ponytail and buttons. It kind of looks like it has glasses but I think that's just me seeing things.
~ Early Clawz Design ~
This is my least favorite boss in the game to put it nicely, both gameplay wise and aesthetically speaking. There's a few early designs of the character which look really neat and fit the games style a lot more.
~ Puffy's Closet Umbrella and Jackle's Guillotine ~
I just learned recently that the trigger for the umbrella to fall out of Puffy's closet after defeating her is by having a "2" in the timer, I found this out from someone who goes by "JiggyLookBack" in his NiGHTs video. I commented on said video regarding this oddity as well as mentioning Jackle's guillotine dropping, I was wondering what the trigger for this was when someone responded to me and said it actually doesn't even exist, people datamining the game stated there is no animation for his guillotine going off. I haven't seen this myself and only heard of this from one of Digi Valentine's videos where he mentions it happening, it seems like there's a mystery here.
I wonder where he original heard it from or if it was a memory of his? It's really interesting but don't pester the guy about it. There is actually one other mention of this online, a post saying that the guillotine sometime's drops after Jackle is defeated, the poster said he found this on a NiGHTs wiki. I haven't found any wiki that mentions this, I assume it was removed. The poster also mentions the chances of the guillotine dropping are "very rare". I'm assuming both of these individuals saw this from the wiki and that said wiki was the source of this rumor. If this is the case I wonder who originally came up with this and why, NiGHTs is already really obscure even if it is becoming more well known, I highly doubt someone made this up as a troll, it's so oddly specific.
How did this individual see Jackle's guillotine drop or imagine it did? This is the kind of stuff that will keep you up at night, truly.
~ Scrapped Halloween Level ~
There's an unused Halloween themed level that was found in the PS2 version of the game, it seems like the boss of the level would have been in Puffy's room. There's music that would have went along with this level, I'm sure everyone's heard it before.
~ Air NiGHTs ~
I don't have a lot to say about this because there's almost nothing known about it, Air NiGHTs was going to be a sequel to NiGHTs into Dreams on the Saturn before being moved to the Dreamcast and then being scrapped, how fitting would that have been? It was going to have motion controls like Journey of Dreams on the Wii. I wonder if concepts from both NiD and this project made it into JoD.
I really want to see what this game would have looked like, the Dreamcast has some of the most cozy games on it, I bet the game would have had an amazing aesthetic.
~ Spiral Claris Level ~
The internal name for Twin Seeds is "#P7:ELIOT'S-CITY" which implies Claris would have had her own version of a final level instead of being a copy paste, to go along with this there's a name in the files for something labeled "#P8:SPIRAL-CLARIS".
~ Blue Door ~
In prerelease footage of the game from E3 there is a mysterious blue door that can be seen in Frozen Bell a few times, the video suspiciously cuts as soon as Elliot is about to jump into it.

~ Tektonix ~
This memorial site for this mans Onix always stuck out to me, I didn't play the gen 1 remakes too much when I was younger but when I reached the Sevii Islands and saw this I kind of just sat around the little island and took in the view, it also made me a bit sad, probably the first time a video game managed to make me feel that way. You can place a can of lemonade on the memorial and Tektonix's owner here will give you the TM for facade. I figured there would be more to do here back in the day but it's just a neat piece of scenery.
~ Hearthome Cathedral ~
When talking about mysteries in the Pokemon games this is one that comes up a lot, in DPP you can find a unique cathedral or church in Hearthhome that's impossible to miss, there is nothing to do or find in this cathedral, it's completely empty except for a lot of characters who speak some wisdom to you, what gets people the most is how there's no music inside.
In a video game that's full of music when you enter an area where there is none it makes you think something important is going to happen, especially in a unique place like this.
I and many others online think this was going to be where you would obtain an event item such as the azure flute or some other kind of event item, this place seems like it would be very important to the story as well but there's just nothing here.
~ Vermilion City Construction ~
Another popular mystery, what is the construction site in Vermilion City going to be turned into when it's complete? Game Freak had quite a few chances to do something with it, especially with GSC, I haven't played the Let's Go games but I think I saw that it's still empty in those as well.
~ Mossdeep White Rock and Space Station ~
This is one that we all tried to figure out as kids, the white rock that's right outside of the Mossdeep space station, I don't remember the exact dialogue but a character standing next to the rock says something about a wish so everyone assumed this was connected to Jirachi in some way, maybe it was during the development of the game. I always found it odd that Jirachi never received it's own event area and you just got it from that Colosseum bonus disc among other methods.
Another number of things that are strange with this place is that it barely plays a role in the story and the role it does play makes no sense in regards to Team Magma wanting to make a volcano erupt, one of the engineers saying what your playtime is in a cryptic way and in the number of weeks instead of hours, something even stranger is that you can't access this place when Groudon or Kyogre are causing the weather issues. I would mention the differences between Ruby / Sapphire and Emerald in terms of the look of the station but that's probably just them not being satisfied with the original design.
~ Altering Cave ~
Altering Cave is an area that opens up after you defeat the Elite 4 in Emerald, there's a copy of it in FRLG but it goes by another name which I forgot, this cave was going to be used in an event that would distribute gen 2 Pokemon. I remember hearing a lot of rumors a few months after release that you could find all sorts of Pokemon here, quite a few people saying you could get mythical Pokemon, while I didn't believe that I spent some hours a day trying to get something to happen in there, eventually I found a shiny Zubat which was cool.
~ Smeargle's Tail Colors ~
This is an odd one, there has always been a lot of inconsistencies with Smeragle's tail color, it was originally red with the shiny being green despite art at the time showing it with a green tip, in Stadium 2 it has a lot of different colors, if I remember correctly I think this had to do with the nickname? I could be wrong on that one, I never used Smeargle before let alone a nicknamed one. Then gen 3 came around and the normal and shiny colors were swapped for good, except in Colosseum and XD where it's red again due to it reusing models from Stadium, the shiny version is blue in these games also. There's probably some examples I'm missing with this.
~ Artisan's Cave ~
Speaking of Smeargle, Artisan's Cave. At least the Altering Cave has an explanation for it but this one doesn't as far as I'm aware, it's a cave under the Battle Frontier that just has Smeargle in it along with a lot of vitamins, it's in a pretty obscure area as well. The size of the room makes me question the purpose of it further, it really is a massive cave. Maybe it had another purpose at one point, it feels like a place where you would find a legendary.
~ Event Only Areas ~
I absolutely love the concept of these locations, mysterious, limited time areas where you can get legendary or mythical Pokemon. I remember watching a lot of videos showing these off as a kid and having this feeling afterwards like there could always be more to games, things left undiscovered. The only event I've taken part in was the Shaymin one, seeing Seabreak Path open up will always be one of my favorite memories with Pokemon and I'm sure it's the same for many others.
Something I never understood is what's known as these new age "fomo" people who become upset at limited time things in life, I dislike when developers cater to them and ruin the memories some people could have had, the reason why discontinued items and events are special is because you can no longer obtain the items or visit said events, the people that want them afterwards will feel nothing if they are given those things because they weren't there to experience it, they have no memory of it and if given them now it will not be a new memory for them but just something that everyone got to experience.

Hello! Welcome to Crescent Quest 1.8.4, there is now a Saint Patrick's and Easter event happening, both take place in New Cressora through the Cressora Town event portal. Not much has changed with these from last year but I have added a few new things.
* Added two new, soon to be discontinued items, the Clover Saint's Cape and Twin Rabbit Ears. These items won't be able to be obtained again after this event is over.
* Added the green, blue, pink, purple and yellow Clover Charms.
* Added the red, blue and green Essence Symbols.
* Added more detail to dialogue boxes and the game menu.
* Added the Numinous Shield Staff.
* Added a new shop in Wythdire.
* Increased the bonuses of the Ancient weapons.
* Altered the design of the Ancient Hermit Staff.
* Shortened the names of some equipment, for example the Draconic Scale Helm is now called the Draconicscale Helm.

~ Final Egg Ceiling Door ~
I always look in the direction of this one every time I run through Final Egg, when you get to the second Beat spawners and pass them you go up a ramp and if you look off to the right side of it there's a door all the way across the room that leads nowhere, there's no path behind it and you can see it from the ground level before entering the room with the Beats. I assume something was meant to be here during development, maybe a different path through the stage, something tells me this door wasn't just for show. Speaking of the Beats they will eventually stop spawning if you keep destroying them, it takes a while to do though.
~ Big the Cat Sewer Door ~
Big's voice is very quiet in this voice line so I assume there's quite a lot of people who haven't heard this before, when going down the manhole and then exiting from underground through the elevator Big says "ouch" as his tail clips through the door as it closes. This game is full of so much soul, the developers adding a unique voice line to make up for a graphical oddity such as clipping is very cool.
~ Fishing for Items ~
You can throw your rod into random pools of water to get items, this also works in the water that runs under the manhole. There's not much to say about this one.
~ Mystic Ruins Shed ~
I would spend a long time as a kid trying to get inside the shed that's by the minecart and waterfall in the Mystic Ruins, four or five years ago I noclipped inside of it just to see if there's anything in there but it's entirely invisible. To be fair if there was something in there everybody would know about it so that makes sense. I wonder if there was going to be an emblem inside there during development.
~ Tails' House ~
Another strange building but you can enter this one, there's nothing to do inside of Tails' house, the camera is stuck at the other end of the room and there's no collision on the objects inside. I assume this was made for the cutscene just before Sky Chase as Tails opens the door and you can see a little bit of the room during it, it's still very strange though. Also there's this perch on his roof, you can see the emblem here easier so maybe that's why it's here. Or just a place to look at the nearby scenery.
~ Windy Valley Prototype ~
Everyone knows about the prototype for Windy Valley, it's an entirely different level and it appears Big was meant to be in it, on top of this some prerelease footage shows Chao running around the stage as well but this was probably an early garden using the prototype assets.
~ Building the Sonic Statue ~
I apologize for adding some topics that everyone already knows about but this is the Sonic statue you can build in Casinopolis if you get enough rings, it's 5,000 rings to build the entire thing with the head being the final part, 2,500 rings for the arms, 1,000 for the body and 200 for the feet. An oddity with this is that the statue disappears when entering one of the pinball machines or the sewers and only reappears once you deposit more rings.
~ Crystal Ring Glitch / Unused Super Sonic Recap ~
You know those recaps you get during the character stories? There's an unused one never shown in the game for Super Sonic's story that shows Perfect Chaos in the background but you can access this through an oversight, this only works on Dreamcast and I'd rather not mess with my saves to try this to be honest. If you've already completed the game and have the crystal ring you cannot access this unused recap, you need to play through the game without picking up the upgrade and finally pick it up in Super Sonic's story, the game will save as it usually does (which is not supposed to happen in this story) and you can now exit the game and load the save file.
You will now load into Hedgehog Hammer and be stuck in there as Sonic permanently, falling into the void. This is a complete hardlock and there's no way to escape it outside of deleting the save file. What a way to go, eh?
~ Egg Carrier Mystery Elevator ~
In the Egg Carrier you have those two rooms where you get upgrades for Gamma, in one of those rooms, if I remember I think it's the jet booster one there's an elevator that leads to nowhere, you don't have to use it to leave the room as there's a spring right next to you, although there is no spring in a prototype version of the game from what I remember, so maybe it did have a use.
~ Final Egg Hidden Room ~
I think I saw this one on Sonic Cult back in the day if anyone remembers that site, I think it was pretty popular, at the end of Final Egg there's a hidden hallway, the same one that takes you to the Egg Viper boss, supposedly the capsule was supposed to be placed at the end of this hallway but was moved back further to where it is now. You can spindash up and over the door to reach this place.
~ Four Extra Lives ~
Yet again, another popular one, this is about those four extra lives you get by waiting a few minutes for that moving platform to come down just before the capsule in Final Egg.
~ Casinopolis Hidden Passage ~
Just a neat secret passage that people call unused for some reason even though it has items in it and seems finished. You can access this with Sonic and Tails right at the start of the sewer section to the right.
~ Mystic Ruins Creature Sightings ~
This is rarely ever talked about if at all now a days, on the original Dreamcast version of the game there were discussions on old personal forums from the late 90's and the 2000's about players seeing something running through the jungle portion of Mystic Ruins, the descriptions of this creature aren't very detailed as it's only seen for a very small amount of time before it disappears or runs. The next time you are in the ruins, perhaps you will see something out of the ordinary. If you hear the music from Amy's mirror room in Twinkle Park, Fakery Way it is advised to turn off the game.
~ Rhythm Badge Item Box ~
Sometimes when cutting grass in Station Square and Mystic Ruins, very rarely instead of rings you'll get a ring item box. For some reason the bottom of the box will stay on the ground through area transitions and disappear at random.
~ Snowboard Color ~
You can change the color of your snowboard in the game by pressing certain buttons before the board appears, Sonic's board goes from blue to partially yellow. Something of note is that Tails' originally had an orange board during development, his board can't be changed for some reason and is always the same color. I'll also mention the oddity that you can duck while on a board, this serves no purpose.
~ Red Mountain Mysteries ~
Are the things behind bars supposed to be badniks? Is that why they are imprisoned in Red Mountain? Why is Red Mountain used as a prison anyway and what's with the electric chairs? Why is it that Red Mountain seems to be in the same region as Pumpkin Hill from SA2? Is Red Mountain supposed to be on Angel Island?
In the autodemo there's unused textures, animations and a model for a ghost that was either an enemy or just background scenery, it looks like it's wearing green bed sheets kind of like the ones in RS2 during the Ghost Ahoy quest. I wonder if they are related to the pumpkin witches in the Halloween DLC. I have a theory they may have been in place of the prisoners behind the bars.
~ Speed Highway at Dawn Blue Rabbit ~
This blue rabbit logo on this object in Speed Highway is pretty interesting, just who is he? It could be a reference to when Sonic was first being created and some concept art for him as a rabbit named Feels.
~ Fin ~
This is all I could think of off the top of my antlers, I may make a second part if I remember more things to talk about. I appreciate all of those reading and watching the video versions of these kinds of posts. It's cool to see others interested in video game urban legends, secrets and such, things that make you question why a developer added something. Thank you everyone!

* Fang's staff can now be imbued from the newly added hyper boss.
* Added Dirge to the title screen.
* Added the Dirge Rifle.
* Redesigned every level and added new scenery, objects, colors and items.
* Added cards of the Mystic, Warrior, Thief, Paladin, King and Queen and more.
* Added a shrine in Vilks Mountain that provides items depending on your score.
* Added a new kind of aura.
* Added the Chyfrinx Park.
* Added new spells.
* Added a score bonus and area bonus at the end of the game if you reach 75,000 score and cleared all of the bonus areas respectively. The score bonus is 20,000 score and the area bonus is 25,000 score.
Introducing in-game achievements and hard mode.
* Achievements will provide the player with an exclusive in-game item if all of them are completed, for each achievement that is completed you will earn experience and other rewards. You will be told of any earned achievements at a red Dirge Glyph.
* The changes in Hard Mode are simple, Dirge has less stats, foes have more moves, items heal less for all characters, Dirge will no longer naturally heal outside of duels and more. You can only activate Hard Mode after you have already completed the game once.
As always, there are more things to see than what is listed!
